Ceremonies and Events for Graduate Students

Master’s Graduation Celebration, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences

A reception will be held to celebrate new alumni of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.  The Master’s Graduate Celebration will be held on Thursday, May 14 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., on the Tisch Library Roof and Patio (rain location:  Murnane Lobby, Granoff Music Center).  Graduates of the 2019-2020 academic year (August 2019 – May 2020) will be sent a save-the-date announcement in April.  Questions can be emailed to Angela.Foss@tufts.edu.

Doctoral Hooding Ceremony, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences

The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Doctoral Hooding Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 16 from 1:00-3:30 p.m., at Cohen Auditorium. Invitations will be mailed to eligible participants in April. If you choose to attend, a doctoral hood will be provided to you as a gift from the dean. PhD hoods will be distributed in May. Academic regalia is required at the ceremony. You may wear your own gown, or the gown of a family member. Academic regalia is not available for rent. Family and friends are invited to a reception in your honor immediately following the ceremony.

School of Engineering Graduate Programs Ceremony

The School of Engineering Graduate Programs Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 16, at 9:00 a.m., in the Gantcher Center. PhD students will be hooded by their thesis advisor and Master’s students will be individually recognized.  PhD graduates will be provided a doctoral hood as a gift from the dean. Family and friends are invited to attend this ceremony. There will be a reception immediately following the ceremony. More information about this event will be communicated to eligible students by the School of Engineering. Please bring your marching card to this ceremony.
