2026 Ceremonies and Events

Wednesday, May 13, 2026

President’s Brunch for the Class of 2026: Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering Graduate Programs, and The Fletcher School
President Kumar will host a brunch to celebrate the Class of 2026 graduates of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering Graduate Programs, and The Fletcher School.

The brunch will be held on Wednesday, May 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Joyce Cummings Center. A RSVP link will be available in March. Questions can be emailed to president@tufts.edu.

Master’s Graduation Celebration, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (graduates only)
A reception will be held to celebrate new alumni of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, graduates of the 2025- 2026 academic year (August 2025 – May 2026.) The Master’s Graduation Celebration will be held on Thursday, May 14, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Remis Sculpture Court and Patio. Questions can be emailed to gsas@tufts.edu.


Saturday, May 16, 2026

School of Engineering Graduate Programs Ceremony
The School of Engineering Graduate Programs Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 16, at 9:00 a.m., in the Gantcher Center. A recording of the event will be available at go.tufts.edu/soe after Commencement weekend. PhD students will be hooded by their thesis advisor and master’s students will be individually recognized. PhD graduates will be provided a doctoral hood as a gift from the dean. Family and friends are invited to attend this ceremony. Tickets are required for all guests. Each graduate receives up to six guest tickets. There will be a reception immediately following the ceremony. More information about this event will be communicated to eligible students by the School of Engineering. Please bring your marching card to this ceremony.

NEW: Master’s Commencement Ceremony, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Master’s Commencement Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 16, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. (location TBA.) Cap and gown are required for the ceremony. Information on purchasing a cap and gown will be available online. Family and friends are invited to attend this ceremony. More information about this event will be communicated to eligible students by the staff from the GSAS Dean’s office. Questions can be emailed to gsas@tufts.edu.

Doctoral Hooding Ceremony, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Doctoral Hooding Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 16, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at Cohen Auditorium. PhD graduates who will be attending the ceremony will be provided a doctoral hood as a gift from the dean. Information on purchasing a cap and gown can is available online. Family and friends are invited to attend this ceremony, as well as to a reception in your honor immediately following the ceremony. More information about this event will be communicated to eligible students by the staff from the GSAS Dean’s office. Questions can be emailed to gsas@tufts.edu.

All-University Ceremony
The All-University Commencement ceremony (Phase I) will take place at 9:00 a.m. on The Green, followed by individual department ceremonies (Phase II) from 11:30 a.m. to approx. 3:00 p.m. Tickets are required for all guests. Each graduate receives up to six guest tickets.

Commencement Boxed Lunch
Tickets are required for the Commencement Boxed Lunch. Each graduate is eligible to reserve three complimentary tickets for the Light Lunch on the Lawn. Additional tickets may be purchased. Graduates can reserve their complimentary tickets and purchase additional Lunch on the Lawn tickets online. Lunch tickets will not be for sale on Commencement Sunday.
