Commencement Tickets & Announcements
Tickets will be required for guests to attend the Commencement weekend ceremonies. Each graduating student will be allotted up to six (6) tickets for their guests. These tickets (which are complimentary) will serve as a “global pass” for the following Commencement weekend events:
- Baccalaureate Ceremony on Saturday, May 16
- All-University Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 17
- School of Arts & Sciences/School of Engineering Commencement Ceremonies on Sunday, May 17
This six-ticket limit does not include the graduating student. Graduating students will need only their Tufts ID to enter the ceremonies.
To reserve guest tickets (which are complimentary), graduating students will be emailed a link to the online ticketing system in the early spring.
Please see the FAQ section below for more information. You also may send questions to the Commencement Office, commencement@tufts.edu.
FAQ
Why are guest tickets limited?
In an effort to maintain a safe environment and to offer an enjoyable experience for graduating students and their guests, it is necessary for Tufts to limit the number of people at Commencement venues. The University made this decision after a thoughtful review of a number of factors including safety guidelines, best practices, and feedback from previous events. We know how important this milestone is for graduating students, families, and friends, and we look forward to celebrating with you!
What if I need more than the allotted six guest tickets?
Graduating students may share their unused tickets with fellow graduating students who need more than six. The electronic tickets generated are not linked to a specific guest. Students will be able to forward their extra tickets electronically, or print out their tickets, to give to other graduating students.
When will the ticketing process start?
In the early spring. An email with details about the ticket request system will be sent to all graduating students.
How do I reserve my tickets?
To reserve tickets (which are complimentary), graduating students will be sent a link to the online ticketing system in the early spring.
If I run into a technical problem reserving tickets, what do I do?

If they are digital tickets, what happens if I do not (or my family member does not) have a smart phone?
Feel free to print out the digital tickets to use over Commencement Weekend.

Graduation Announcements
Traditionally, many graduates have used their Commencement announcements to send to family and friends who cannot attend the ceremony. A table will be set up in the Mayer Campus Center at the Commencement Fair on April 8, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., for students to pick up their official Tufts Commencement 2026 announcements. After that date, students are responsible for picking up their announcements at the Office for Campus Life in the Mayer Campus Center.
