Phase I, in which all Tufts’ schools participate, is the All-University Commencement Ceremony. It includes the Academic Procession, the awarding of honorary degrees, the All-University Commencement address, and recognition of faculty emeriti. Phase I takes place on The Green, between Ballou Hall and Bendetson Hall.

10:45 a.m. Degree candidates should assemble in the appropriate locations according to their alignment areas. Marshals will be available to assist you.

10:45 a.m. The Goddard Chapel bells will begin ringing. This is a reminder that the Academic Procession will begin promptly at 11 a.m., when the bells stop ringing.

11:00 a.m. Phase I, All-University Academic Procession begins.

11:15 a.m. (approximately) Commencement program begins.

12:30 p.m. (approximately) Recessional. End of Phase I Commencement ceremony.

12:30 p.m. (approximately) Lunch on the Lawn for the School of Arts and Sciences, and School of Engineering.

Phase II of Commencement at Tufts consists of School ceremonies where graduates are individually recognized. The School of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Engineering will host a combined Phase II ceremony on The Green beginning at 2:00 p.m.

No tickets are required to attend the Phase I or Phase II ceremonies.
