Frequently Asked Questions about Commencement.
The all-university online Degree Conferral Ceremony will be posted to the Commencement website at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday May 17, 2020. This ceremony will include remarks from the president, recognition of those receiving emeritus certificates, presentation of degree candidates by school and the conferral of degrees by the Tufts University Board of Trustees. (Please note: Graduates will not be recognized individually/by name as part of the all-university degree conferral ceremony.)

Due to the health and safety concerns related to COVID-19, President Anthony Monaco announced on March 26, 2020 that Commencement would not proceed in-person on May 17th. Read the announcement here.

Students from the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering who have pre-ordered their commencement regalia will receive an email from Herff Jones offering to either mail the cap and gown to the student's address of choice, or to issue a refund. This decision is up to the student.
For other Schools, please check with your school administrator.
For students in the School of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Engineering, diplomas will be mailed to you. Please make sure your diploma mailing address and your permanent mailing address are updated in SIS.
For all other Schools, you will receive additional information from your school by email.
