January:
Caps, gowns, and hoods are available for pre-order online through March 1. Please note: doctoral degree recipients who attend the GSAS or SoE Doctoral Hooding Ceremony will be gifted a doctoral hood; all other academic regalia is the responsibility of the student. February:
May degree candidates must apply for graduation and submit their graduate degree sheet by March 15 see instructions here

On-campus lodging reservations are available online from February 1st – April 30th.

March:
May degree candidates who are completing a thesis/dissertation are recommended to submit a final draft to their committee in mid-March.

Custom Tufts PhD regalia order deadline: March 11. Bookstore hosting “Measurement Day” for PhD candidates wanting to purchase custom regalia: March 4, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

April:

Caps, gowns, and hoods are available for purchase (and pick-up for online pre-orders) at the Bookstore in early April. Cap and gown information can be found here.

Commencement announcement cards are available in the Campus Center in early April.

All May degree candidates are encouraged to check SIS for any outstanding balances and/or holds that may interfere with Commencement participation or receipt of their diploma. Name to be printed on the diploma, and the diploma mailing address should be verified/updated in SIS. May degree candidates who have received federal loans must complete online exit loan counseling.

Commencement luncheon tickets may be reserved April 20 – May 16. Please note: three complimentary luncheon tickets will be provided.

May:

All May degree candidates are required to complete the Graduate Exit Survey by May 3; a secure link to the survey will be sent to your Tufts email account.

May degree candidates who are completing a thesis/dissertation must upload their final document to ProQuest and submit the Thesis/Dissertation Final Approval form by May 3.

May Ph.D. degree candidates must complete the Survey of Earned Doctorates (SED) by May 3. The SED is not required for OTD candidates.

Grade changes, and transfer credits for May degree candidates must be posted to the transcript by May 1.

In SIS  you may review your Graduation Status. A status of “Applied for Graduation” means your degree sheet has not been submitted or is pending department approval. A status of “In Review” or “Final Review” means your degree sheet has been received and is being reviewed by Graduate Student Services. You and/or your department will be contacted with any questions or concerns. Your status will remain “In Review” until all degree requirements (ex: final grades for Spring; thesis/dissertation) have been submitted and reviewed.

Marching cards are available for pick-up at the Student Services in Dowling Hall beginning Tuesday, May 14, 2024  from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please bring your ID. If you are unable to pick up your marching card, you may designate someone to pick it up on your behalf by, contact Student Services in advance for instructions. 

Trustees vote degrees on May 19, 2024 and the official conferral of degrees takes place on Commencement Sunday during the Phase I ceremony.

Commencement is May 19, 2024. Diplomas for May graduates will be mailed to graduates after commencement.
